Welcome Friends!

Welcome to Lemons to Lemonade Home — I’m so glad you’re here. What started as flipping forgotten furniture in our garage turned into something so much bigger than paint and power tools. Years ago, we were staring at $60,000 in debt and wondering how we were ever going to get ahead. Instead of accepting that as our normal, we decided to start turning what we had into opportunity. One dresser at a time, one late night in the garage at a time, we flipped furniture and changed our financial future. That journey led to us becoming completely debt free and even sharing our story on the Dave Ramsey Show — a full-circle moment that reminded us just how powerful small, consistent steps can be.

Today, Lemons to Lemonade Home has grown into a YouTube community of over 100,000 subscribers and millions of views, where I share DIY furniture flips, budget-friendly home ideas, and real talk about building income through side hustles. But at the heart of it all, this space is about hope. It’s about taking something overlooked — whether that’s a curbside dresser or your own financial situation — and transforming it into something beautiful. I’m so grateful you’re here, and I can’t wait to show you what’s possible. ?

My Favorite verse!

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives

Genesis 50:20

Tip 01 start now!

We didn’t wait until we had the perfect workshop, perfect tools, or perfect plan. We started in a garage with basic supplies and a lot of determination. Whether you’re flipping furniture or paying off debt, momentum matters more than perfection. Your first project won’t be your best — and that’s okay. Progress builds confidence. Confidence builds income. Income builds freedom.

Tip 02 costs low/margin high

This applies to both furniture and finances.
When flipping, I use affordable, accessible supplies and I’m intentional about every dollar invested. When we were paying off debt, we did the same thing — cut costs, increase margin, stay focused. You don’t need the most expensive paint or the fanciest piece to create something beautiful. Cozy and profitable both start with discipline.

Tip 03 find the potential

The dresser headed for the landfill.
The boring nightstand nobody wanted.
The “impossible” debt number.
Most people see those things and walk away. We chose to see possibility. That mindset shift is what changed everything for us. Furniture flipping taught me that transformation is almost always possible — and so is financial freedom.

how I got Here

Why I Love What I Do

I love what I do because it’s never just about the furniture. Yes, I love the sanding, the painting, the design decisions, and that final reveal moment — but what really lights me up is the transformation. Taking something forgotten and giving it purpose again mirrors so much of our own story. Furniture flipping helped our family pay off $60,000 in debt, led us to share our journey on the Dave Ramsey Show, and built a YouTube community of over 100,000 subscribers and millions of views. What started as a side hustle in the garage became financial freedom and a platform to encourage others that change is possible.

But even more than the numbers, I love the impact. I love showing busy moms, families, and dreamers that you don’t need a huge budget to create a cozy home or a better future. You can start small. You can start scrappy. You can start with what you have. Every flip, every blog post, and every video is my way of saying: you are more capable than you think. If we can turn lemons into lemonade, so can you.

You, My Friend

have come to the right place

If you’ve ever slowed down for curbside furniture, rearranged a room three times in one afternoon, or wondered if a side hustle could actually change your life — you, my friend, have come to the right place. Around here, we believe in second chances for furniture and finances. This blog is where cozy meets practical, where paint brushes meet profit margins, and where big transformations start with small, brave steps. You’ll find detailed breakdowns of each project — what I spent, what I used, what I’d do differently — plus full YouTube videos so you can watch every sand, repair, and reveal unfold in real time. Think of this as your behind-the-scenes pass to the garage workshop, complete with honest numbers, real-life lessons, and plenty of lemonade along the way. ?
